OKAY, the real Pocahontas, from what history can tell us, was pretty awesome. I mean, she was a BOSS.

But the Disney Pocahontas, in my opinion, is pretty…small brained…to put it nicely.

Half of the horrible things that happened in that movie wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for her actions….

Can we take a moment to reread that?
“If she had stuck to the tribe, kept to her chores like the other women, and been a good daughter, things would have been a LOT better off.”
Doesn’t that sound eerily like today’s dickwad joke of “women belong in the kitchen”?
I’m not saying I agree with all of her actions in the movie, but that’s not the rationale to take to prove she’s wrong. Plus, Disney is all about their leading ladies breaking the mold and not doing what is expected of them as just females. It made the story.

I am going to be participating in nearly every ATLA and LOK shipping week that is currently out and dated, as well as catching up on the weeks that I have missed for this year, since I joined the tumblr-verse a bit late in the game. This will include a crap ton of drawings to get out into the world, and not all of them may be on the correct day of each week, yet they will all eventually get out there. It makes me happy to draw all of these, but it is a lot of time spent bent over my sketchbook and killing the muscles of my entire back side.

Here goes the rest of my summer.

Bromotions Week Day 1: Alone Gosh, I can already tell this week is gonna be hard to draw. The idea behind this one is it’s just after the brothers lost their parents, and they’re starting to realize they are completely alone in the world.

The Gaang, made of pipe cleaners, beads, string, felt and a little paint. Each one is about the size of my thumb. I made these a few years ago and just found them while digging through my room, so here they are. They’re a little banged up, but still viewable.
